HIMA Middle East, a member of the worldwide HIMA Group, sponsored and successfully participated in the 5th Annual Process Safety Implementation Week, which took place in Abu Dhabi from 22 - 26 September 2013.
The annual event provides an in-depth focus on implementation and sustainability apart from designing process safety programs. Most of the GCC’s national oil companies have made process safety an important indicator in every employee’s KPI. With increasing worldwide incidents of oil spills, pipeline leaks, gas explosions, submarine blasts, etc., the safety of offshore and onshore resources, including people and facilities, remains the single largest priority and responsibility of oil, gas and petrochemical companies as well as their vendors, partners and solution providers.
The Process Safety Implementation Week covered each and every PSM aspect, including implementation challenges, KPIs and strategies to drive improvement, PSM application in older operations, new technologies for hazard detection and how to successfully integrate PSM throughout a large organisation.
Mr. Denrich Sananda – Managing Director HIMA Middle East presented on “Control/mitigation barriers in safety critical elements,” which focused on functionality, reliability, availability, response time, robustness and triggering events.
