At a ceremony in Dubai on February 20, the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry and Commerce (AHK) presented HIMA Middle East with the 2015 AHK Technology Award for contributions to safety made by the company’s HIMax safety system.
Formed in 2009, AHK is a bilateral federal business organization whose annual awards honor companies and businesspeople for outstanding achievements and business performance. HIMA Middle East and Kärcher Middle East won the two top technology awards.
HIMA Middle East was honored for the company’s HIMax system, which was used on engineering projects in UAE and throughout the Middle East, and specifically on the reactor shutdown control system of the Borouge 3 LDPE plant in Abu Dhabi.
AHK awards were presented in six categories: corporate social responsibility, education, innovation, technology, production and start-ups category. SAP Training and Development Institute, Siemens and Robert Bosch Middle East were among the award-winning companies. Representatives from the winning companies, along with prominent business figures from the Emirati and German business community in the UAE, attended the ceremony at the Raffles Dubai hotel.
