09-07-2010 - HIMA-Benelux : Open day at the new premises in Breda, 18.06.2010

HIMA Benelux B.V. has moved to a new location in Breda and invited its customers to an Open Day. HIMA Benelux is now able to provide even better services to its customers as e.g.

- Increased range of services - HIMA Benelux offers system trainings as well as Functional Safety trainings directly in Breda
- Staging & Engineering Area - Additional room for workshops on HIMA-systems, commissioning or customer approval of smaller projects

Different application solutions as e.g. BMS applications and the pipeline applications from HIMA Slovakia have been presented together with a short presentation of HIMax and its Nonstop philosophy. It was a succesful day with very good discussions accompanied by a nice catering and two live musicians.

Yara Brunsbüttel GmbH Protects Brunsbüttel Factory with HIMA ESD system

10-12-2009 - State-of-the-Art Safety - HIMA Controllers Ensure Maximum Availability at Nordsee Gas Terminal

To modernize the safety technology used in its liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) storage facility in Brunsbüttel (Schleswig-Holstein, Germany), Nordsee Gas Terminal GmbH & Co. KG will rely on three H51q systems from HIMA Paul Hildebrandt GmbH + Co KG as emergency shutdown (ESD) systems. The systems help ensure safe operations at the only LPG sea import terminal in Germany. One H51q system will be used as operating and monitoring systems, while  two additional controllers will serve as safety systems for the re-liquefaction process. These additional two controllers will monitor two physically separated, low-voltage installations for monitoring the tank cooling temperature. One year after announcing their mutual technology partnership, SEW-EURODRIVE and HIMA today signed a new agreement for developing the safety-related controller HM31 for use in SEW-EURODRIVE’s decentralized drivers and application solution MOVIPRO®.

4-11-2009 - Gjøa pipeline: reducing costs with high pressure - New pipeline protection system from Statoil

A new type of flow-based pipeline protection system (PPS) for the new Gjøa field in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea will lead to significant savings in pipeline costs and higher pressures for gas transport. The process on which PPS is based has been developed and patented by Statoil. Bjørge Safety Systems AS (BSS), the Norwegian agent of the company HIMA Paul Hildebrandt GmbH + Co KG, has implemented the PPS with HIMA’s safety system H51q.

26-10-2009 - HIMax system guarantees maximum availability of chlorine plant - New HIMA safety system safeguards continuous chlorine production process at Vinnolit Gendorf

HIMax is safeguarding the chlorine production process at Vinnolit GmbH & Co. KG’s Gendorf facility. The leading German PVC manufacturer was won over by HIMA’s total redundancy concept, which guarantees the continuous operation of the chlorine plant. “The performance of the PES was one of the things that swung the decision in favour of HIMax. It has the performance needed for the machine applications, especially the pump limit regulation,” explains Peter Grandl, EMR technician in the chlorine production area at Vinnolit GmbH & Co. KG Burgkirchen.

23-10-2009 - Showroom in France, Le Havre, 18.-19. November 2009

HIMA France organizes 2 showrooms inside of France. The focus lays in the presentation of HIMax, HIQuad and HIMatrix combined with all services as safety consulting and project management & engineering. The first showroom took already place in Martigues and was very successful. Costumers and system integrators assured themselves about the advantages of the HIMA solutions.

14-10-2009 - High availability at a glance - HIMax from HIMA as a visualisation and operation component at INEOS Köln

HIMax is now in use at INEOS Köln (Germany, Cologne) as a high-availability operating and visualising component for remote monitoring of safety technology in a production plant. The challenge in this application is the length of the optical fibre used for high-speed data transmission.

As the new  Executive Vice President Sales Process Automation and Service, Thomas Hinzmann will manage global sales activities for HIMA.

Thomas Hinzmann, with degrees in electrical engineering and business (Master of electrical engineering and Master of business administration), has extensive experience in sales. Previously, he worked as Director of Sales Rosemount Europe for Emerson Process Management.

Thomas Hinzmann will assume the duties of Dr. Hans-Jörg Kmiecik, who becomes Vice President Global Project Pursuit and will be responsible for the acquisition of major projects. This position was created to ensure the long-term growth of the company internationally.

HIMA modernises ESD system in hexane oxidation plant at LANXESS

In a hexane oxidation plant belonging to LANXESS AG at the Krefeld-Uerdingen Chemical Park (North Rhine-Westphalia region), HIMA Paul Hildebrandt GmbH + Co KG is upgrading an existing HIMA ESD (Emergency Shutdown) system. Because LANXESS planned to shut down the plant for a very short period before commissioning, it decided to conduct a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) using the expanded and modernised safety system.

HIMA has obtained security certification in accordance with Achilles Level I for the new HIMax safety system. In numerous tests, both the X-CPU 01 processor module and the X-COM 01 communication module in HIMax have proven their resilience and robustness against massive cyber attacks.

17-3-2009 - HIMax ensures Flexibility of Burner Control System - Evonik Degussa uses new safety system from HIMA at factory in Kalscheuren

The Evonik Degussa GmbH factory in Kalscheuren near Cologne is the largest European producer of carbon black. During the production of carbon black, the residual gas is used for steam and electricity generation in the thermal afterburning plant. If a boiler stops functioning, however, a gas flare system starts operation to burn the residual gas. As part of renovation work, the boiler control and monitoring system for the gas flare was automated using the new safety system HIMax from HIMA. More...
