HIMA Group is committed to providing high-quality products and services. Safety, security, quality and environmental responsibility are integral parts of the way we develop, manufacture and support our solutions.
To maintain these standards, HIMA operates certified management systems, applies Functional Safety Management throughout the lifecycle and undergoes regular independent audits and assessments. Together, these measures help support the safe, secure and reliable operation of critical industrial and rail infrastructure worldwide.
In 1990, we introduced a quality management system. This was certified in 1994 by German audit company DQS Frankfurt and is subject to yearly audits. Certification in accordance with the ISO 9001 quality standard is the basic prerequisite for numerous product certifications.
We consider it our obligation to contribute to protecting the environment. Environmental aspects are taken into consideration throughout the development, manufacturing and distribution of our products. Our management system, certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14001, supports us in conserving resources and minimizing waste.
Information security plays an increasingly important role in industrial environments. HIMA maintains a certified Information Security Management System (ISMS) to support the protection of information assets and secure business operations.
IEC 61508 Functional Safety Management: Development & Production
In 2002, HIMA became the world's first manufacturer to verify the establishment of a Functional Safety Management (FSM) system, as well as its application in product development and manufacturing, through TÜV Rheinland.
IEC 61508 / IEC 61511 Functional Safety Management: Engineering & System Integration
TÜV Rheinland also audited the application of Functional Safety Management in engineering activities and certified standard-compliant procedures for the integration of safety-related devices and systems.
HIMA maintains a separate quality assurance system for manufacturing products that are used in potentially explosive atmospheres. This quality assurance system supports the proper manufacture of ATEX-certified products and is regularly verified through independent audits.
HIMA products and solutions are supported by a wide range of certifications, approvals and declarations of conformity. These cover functional safety, cybersecurity, hazardous-area applications, transportation systems and industry-specific regulatory requirements. The scope and applicability of certifications vary by product, application and region.
The testing laboratories of HIMA Paul-Hildebrandt GmbH are accredited according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025. Accredited testing capabilities include conducted EMC, electrical safety and climate simulation. These capabilities support independent and traceable verification processes throughout product development and certification activities.
